What is the Problem?
Clinicians dedicate their lives to mastering the art and science of medicine, driven by a passion for helping others and making a difference in their patients' lives.
However, despite their expertise and unwavering commitment, many clinicians feel powerless when it comes to addressing the systemic issues that plague the healthcare system they work within.
The root of this problem lies in the fact that our education, training, and professional culture have primarily focused on developing clinicians as autonomous, technical experts. While this approach has undoubtedly produced highly skilled medical professionals, it has inadvertently neglected the crucial development of leadership, management, and innovation skills. This blind spot has created a glass ceiling that hinders clinicians' ability to influence and drive the positive changes desperately needed in healthcare.
Moreover, when clinicians find themselves in roles of influence, they often lack the necessary training, education, mentorship, coaching, or support to thrive. This lack of preparation can lead to poor performance, which in turn negatively impacts the healthcare system as a whole, creating a vicious cycle that perpetuates the status quo.
What is Part of the Solution?
The Clinical Changemakers podcast aims to bridge this gap by exploring the hidden potential within clinicians and empowering them to become the leaders and innovators the healthcare system needs. Through thought-provoking conversations with renowned experts from various fields, including leadership, innovation, and digital healthcare, this podcast will provide clinicians with the insights, tools, and inspiration they need to break through the glass ceiling and drive meaningful change.
